Connecting to it via its IP instead of network name. Changing the Name of the Mac in Settings. Allowing EVERYONE to read/write to the Mac. Rebooting the M1 after turning off File Sharing. Forgetting the network and assigning a new IP. It just says "loading" for a second then that goes away. I never get prompted for the credentials of the M1 MBA when I try to connect to it from another Mac. I can share other Mac screens and files FROM the M1 MBA. I CAN connect to it for Screen Sharing and Remote Login, but not File Sharing. Turning File Sharing back on causes the M1 MBA to immediately show up in the Network of the other Macs on the Network. If I turn off File Sharing on the M1 it disappears from the network. When I try to connect it says "loading" but that goes away and it hangs until I get the error shown in the graphic above. I can see the computer in the Network on any of my Macs. I am trying to connect to a M1 MBA running Ventura. I have this same issue but turning off File Sharing then rebooting and re-enabling File Sharing doesn't work for me. Can someone point me in the right direction on this? I was not having this problem connecting in High Sierra, and I would also note that Mac drives, folders, and files can be seen on the Windows 7 PC. I don't know if my "Registered User" name is incorrect or not. "There was a problem connecting to the server 'jXXXXXX-pc.'Ĭheck the server name or IP address, and then try again. When I click "Connect As" and try to sign in as a "Registered User." Credentials are either not accepted or I get the following message: Share files and folders using SMB (Checked) Now in System Preferences I've configured the following:
Everything works great, except I'm not able to connect to my Windows 7 PC in the other room over the network.

Mojave can't connect to Windows 7 on LAN Hey folks, just did a clean install of Mojave (10.14.3) coming from High Sierra. What am I missing here? Any suggestions on what I should do to be able to connect to MS and MBA via LAN will be appreciated.

The Firewall Options 'Automatically allow built-in software to receive incoming connections' is set to On and 'File Sharing (SMB)' is set to Allow incoming connections. The Public Folder is shared, 'Share files and folders using SMB' is set to On. I followed the instructions in the Apple articles: If you can’t connect Mac and Windows computers and If your Mac can’t connect to another computer ad litteram, to no avail. In summary, I cannot get access to my Mac Silicon Ventura computers via LAN from any other computer on the same network. Please refer to the attached screenshots. The settings on MS and MBA are similar to those on MBP. When I click on MS or MBA from another computer to connect I get an error message, such as "the server may not exist or is unavailable", or "the network path does not exist". However, I can neither connect to MS or MBA from MBP or DELL, nor connect between MS and MBA. I can also connect from MS or MBA to MBP or DELL. I can see all of them on the network and I can connect between MBP and DELL in either direction. #Remotix quick connect pro#
